6FUSE Summer Heat 2

To register, please email us by clicking here! Include you and your co-captain's contact info (email and phone number)!

Spend your Sunday nights playing your favorite sport! Starting in June 2007 (excluding long weekends), we'll be hosting a rare summer indoor volleyball league in Vancouver! That's right... indoor!

We've heard it all! "But it's summer! You should spend it outdoors!" Yes, but there's just something about indoor vball that's inescapable. There's still a demand for it! Plus, it's nice to be able to cross-train and maintain your indoor volleyball skills throughout the summer. And then there's the fact you never have to worry about the weather cancelling your fun!

Dates:

  • Basically every Sunday (excluding long weekends), from 6pm to 8 or 9pm (depending on number of registered teams)
  • June 10, 24
  • July 8, 22, 29
  • August 12, 26

Cost:

  • $240 for the remaining season.
  • This is the cheapest league for the summer season!
  • There is also the possibility of a beach vball tourney included with your registration (tentative).

Referral bonus:

  • $20 to anybody who refers a team to register (you may not refer your own team).

Format:

  • 6 vs. 6 (Co-Ed 6s with no libero substitution), with a minimum of 4 players to start.
  • Best of 3 sets (25/25/15, capped at 27/27/17 or 1 hour, whichever comes first).
  • A minimum of 2 females must be on the court at all times (no maximum).
  • A maximum of 2 people whose height is 6 feet tall or over on the court at any time.

Levels:

  • 2 levels of play
  • There will be an initial seeding night, then re-seeding every 2 weeks (similar to Volleyball BC)
  • This will help to ensure that similar skill levels play each other for maximum fun! =)

Location:

Additional Notes:

  • Forfeit Fine - Any team who forfeits a game because they cannot meet the minimum or maximum player requirements described under the "Format" paragraph above (ex. Not enough players to start a game) will be subject to a $25 fine per game.
  • Playoff Roster Declaration - While you can have anybody play for your team, especially at times when you need subs to avoid forfeiting, for playoffs, your roster must be declared. Playoff eligibility is determined by those who register and sign in with the front desk each week with Photo ID and have played a minimum of 3 games for a given team (there are 2 games per week). The reason for this is to minimize people bringing in extremely skilled ringers just for playoffs.
